Guatemala is located in Central America. Guatemala offers uncrowded surfing spots along its 250 km Pacific coast. A volcanic country with mostly black-sand beach breaks (Iztapa, Puerto San José...) It's ideal for surfers who are progressing in their surfing and want to surf in spots with no rocks. Very cheap accommodation and food combined with amazing culture and people. And you can leave your wetsuit at home, an average ocean temperature of 28 degrees!
The Hostel Surf Shack is a familiar project that came from the necessity of hosting surfers and travelers who come to Iztapa looking for perfect waves. The Hostel is in nature, in front of the river. It is easy to go to Iztapa Center in a 5 minutes walking and to go to the beach crossing through the river (by boat, kayak or stand-up paddle). The Hostel offers five rooms and cabanas, the option of single, double or triple, with private or shared bathroom, kitchen, pier and a shack at the beach side. Iztapa is village known mainly because of its black dark sand, rivers, sports, fishing, and surfing. It is a village with good and friendly people.
